The wine possesses a deep ruby/purple color, in addition the richly textured palate brings intense black fruit flavors and notes of vanilla, black currants, espresso roast and chocolate tones. The philosophy is to capture all the sweet supple flavors of Merlot as well as the density and weight of Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2004 Barrouge is indicative of the vintage, it is soft, supple, concentrated and charming. Aromatically the wine is filled with red currants and hints of sweet vanilla. It has a ruby-garnet color with red cherry aromas followed by accents of French vanilla. The palate is soft and concentrated, filled with luscious cherry and blackberry jam. BARROUGE has all the weight of a Cabernet yet has the finesse of a Merlot.
